Ritratti di New York. E’ stato un piacere assoluto intervistare il Signor Bobby X Spartan di “Ritratti di New York.” Una persona eloquente, dai toni morbidi, con il cuore di un vero newyorkese. Questo breve documento è stato una vera sfida. Filmato, montato e presentato a B&H in meno di un meno di un giorno, se si escludono le ore di panico alla ricerca di un argomento, roteare in quella che può essere descritta come pioggia biblica, e il fatto che ero tutto solo. La linea che Bobby ha tenuto durante l’intervista “Sia che io ricordi o no, io sarò sempre ricordato” mi tiene fedele come artista del dono di catturare il tempo. Momenti per sempre vivi attraverso la narrazione. La più grande sfida è stata quella di allontanarmi dall’abbondanza di informazioni che sono abituato a ottenere, e semplicemente seduto, in attesa di quell’unico momento.
Portraits of New York. It was an absolute pleasure interviewing Mr. Bobby X Spartan from "Portraits of New York." An eloquent, soft spoken individual, with the heart of a true New Yorker. This short doc was quite a challenge. Filmed, edited and presented at B&H in less than a day, if you exclude hours of panic looking for a subject, b-roll in what can only be described as biblical rain, and the fact that I was all alone. The line Bobby spoke during our interview "Whether I remember or not, I will always be reminded" holds true to me as an artist of the gift of capturing time. Moments forever alive through storytelling. The biggest challenge was stepping away from the abundance of coverage I am use to getting and just sitting, waiting for that one pure moment.

Also, Mr.Peter Reynolds, for his advice, helping me with my audio, and for the $41US gin tonic to help calm my nerves when I returned to the hotel thinking I had nothing to show.
