Tribute in light

By Lucas Compan

Tribute in Light is an art installation that first debuted on March 11, 2002, just six months after the attacks on September 11, 2001.

It has shined bright over Lower Manhattan every year on the solemn anniversary.

The memorial is made up of 88 searchlights positioned to represent the Twin Towers. Its actual location in on the roof of the Battery Parking Garage.

They have lit once again after sundown Sunday 9/11 and stayed up through the overnight hours until dawn next morning. Enjoy a nice video and some pictures from 2017.
